Cancer International Research Group division of TRIO (Translational Research in Oncology)

It is an international, not-for-profit, academic research organization consisting of an international scientific oncology division known as Breast Cancer International Research Group (BCIRG) and a clinical trial operations branch (CIRG) that serves and supports the scientific division in conducting and managing their clinical trials.

CIRG has well-established and proven clinical research services to support the scientific divisions and the goals of the organization.

The Clinical Operations division with its extensive background and solid infrastructure (80 employees) has the means to develop, manage and conduct a study in its entirety, ranging from a small dose-finding phase I study to a large adjuvant phase III registration trial. The organization also exercises flexibility when some sponsors require only one or a few services offered by CIRG and not the full range of resources available.

Clinical Operations Services are:

TORI  (founded by Dr Dennis Slamon) is an oncology research network linked to several basic research laboratories which evaluate new therapeutic molecules.

TRIO
Translational Research In Oncology

CIRG and TORI are respectively keeping their activities and names and as such, are divisions of the new group TRIO.

The aim of this new group is to further the objective of bringing rational and innovative therapeutic concepts into the clinical trial setting.

  • Use translational approaches based on the underlying biology of the disease
  • Conduct innovative clinical research across all phases of drug development and multiple disease sites
